Rapist: A person who comits rape is called rapist. He also needs medical examination as much as the victim.
Preliminary requisites for examination are-
- Receipt of the requisition form from the investigating police officer for the medical examination of accused.
- Written consent of the accused for medical examination duly attached by the investigating police officer.
- Presence of a male attendant.
- Accused should be identified by investigating police constable as investigating police officers.
Medical examination proper-
- Date and time of examination should be noted.
- Two identification marks.
- Clothing of the accused should be examined for tear, blood stain, seminal stain, mud etc.
- Physical conformation, gait, sign of struggle should be noted.
- Examination of the genitals e.g- Public hair for matting, presence of public hair in the prepuce, seminal matter over penis, development of genital organs, presence of scratches as abrasions, presence of smegma, smear from gland penis.
Rape trauma syndrome: It consis of those behavioural, somatic and psychological reactions that occur as a result of forcible rape or attempted forcible rape. It is genarally regarded as a post-treumatic stress disorder.
It has 2 stages:
- Immediate: Characterrized by emotional reaction of serveral kinds eg. tension symptomps together with feeling of guilt & humiliation.
- A long-term: during which the victim readjusts her life as far as possible. During this phase, she may suffer from nightmares & various phobias.
It means sexual intercourese by a man with a woman who is closely related to him blood (prohibited degree of relationship) eg. a daughter, granddaughter, sister, stepsister, aunt or mother Instancees between father & daughter and brothers & sisters are common. it occurs-
1. Between mental defectives
2. where alcohol removes the natural inhibition.
3. In case of cerebral disease, eg. general paralysis, senile cerebral degeneration.
4. Where a brother & sister have been separated since childhood or for a long period and meet later as stranger.s

Paraphilias:
Abnorman & unorthodox sexplay by using unusual objects or parts of the body are known as paraphilias.
Unnatural offences:
Voluntary sexual intercourse againse the order of nature with man or woman or animal is an unnatural sex offence.
Homosexuality: means presistent emotional & physical attration to members of the same sex.
Sodomy: It is the anal intercouse between two males, or between a male & female, This used to be practiced in a town called Sodom. It is also called buggery.
* When the passive agent is an adult, it is called gerontophilia.
* When the passive agent is a young boy, it is called paederasty. The boy is known as catamite.
* An adult who repeatedly engages in sexual activities with children is called a pedophile.
Sodomy is frequent among:
Sailors, prisoners in hostels, military barracks etc. for they are thrown together for long periods.
